Sprucefield Shopping Centre in partnership with Cool FM gave one family the chance to make Christmas extra special by bringing a loved one home in their annual festive competition.

The competition, which was launched on 14th December received hundreds of entries with the winner being chosen on Friday 2nd December.

Rebecca Clarke from Bangor made an appeal for her brother who lives in Perth to come home. You can read her story here:

My brother Bill deserves this as he is one of the most generous caring people and always puts others first before himself. He has three children, the youngest of which is Noah, who our family are yet to meet.

My granny who’s in her eighties said that the one thing she’d love before her ‘time is up’ is to meet Noah but of course with Bill living in the other side of the world this hasn’t been possible.

For my granny’s up and coming 80th birthday the family made plans to fly her to Australia but this is no longer possible due to deteriorating health problems. She no longer has full mobility and also was diagnosed with macular degeneration in both eyes which tragically lead to her losing sight in one eye with sight in her other eye also limited.

My brother is very close to my granny and to think she might never meet Noah before her sight goes fully is distressing for them both.

Please help us Bring Bill and his family home – it’s been 10 years since he was back.
