Over the past 30 years Sprucefield Shopping Centre has proudly hosted special events for customers, from live music in the Summer Garden to Santa’s Grotto, there’s always something fun and exciting happening.

On the 22nd of August, for the first time in the centre’s history, Sprucefield held an ‘electrifying’ outdoor drive-thru cinema event in partnership with McDonald’s.

Across two screenings, Sprucefield welcomed over 700 visitors who snapped-up exclusive tickets to see The Little Mermaid and Grease on the big screen (nearly 100m² to be exact!). Tickets also included a tasty offer of a free McDonalds voucher for cinemas goers.

Speaking on the success of the cinema, Sprucefield Centre Manager, Tim Honeyford commented:

“Sprucefield isn’t just a shopping centre, it’s a place where our loyal shoppers come to spend quality time with family and friends, and this event really encapsulated that.

“Working closely with McDonald’s helped make the experience extra special – visitors could enjoy a bite to eat, soak up the atmosphere and make new memories at the centre. It was great to see familiar faces at the event as well as welcoming so many new visitors.

“From selling out tickets in less than 24 hours to the response on social media – the feedback from customers has been incredible and we look forward to our next event!”
